Chef Chantea is an author, speaker and mentor. She is a 2001 graduate of Ole Miss and a 2005 graduate of MUW Culinary Arts Institute and has been living in Columbia for the last two years. She started Esana’s Delights while in culinary school with the vision that it would be a blessing to her family as part of her legacy. Esana’s is named after her daughter, Kiana, and her oldest niece, Esreal. She relocated to SC in the summer of 2016 from MS and hasn’t look back yet. She is known for her mouth watering, moist southern cakes and custom flavors created for her clients. She is the 2017 South Carolina Cupcake Queen, a competition that she entered in Charleston sponsored by BKS Global Event Planning.
She is also the founder of I Am Still Somebody™ , a teen mom mentoring program, that will launch in 2018. As a former teen mom, it is her purpose to show other teen moms how to go from a statistic to a success. To help fund the program, she coordinated an anthology, There’s A Jewel in You, with other former women who were young mothers, that released September 1, 2017. The book was written to encourage teen mothers not to give up on life and to prevent other young girls from becoming mothers before marriage.
